A Church Planters Conference Experience

"Earlier this year I attend a conference hosted by Kaleo called, "Living at the Crossroads: Church & Mission Kairos." The content and speakers of the conference were great. However, it was the format of the conference that set it apart for all others. In most conferences you merely attend. You show up, sit down, and listen to the expert wax poetic. In between each session you trade thoughts with other attendees and begin to exsorb in the truth being exposited. Then, just as you are really beginning to soak it all up, another session begins. I've benefited somewhat from this format but always longed for more of those fruitful "in-between times." Well, this is exactly what I got at Living at the Crossroads. You don't attend. You participate. It was a meeting of minds and souls to discern what Lord is doing in our midst. The speakers engage in dialogue with all the conference participants. The group broke away into smaller groups to work through what was being presented. We then returned to share with rest of the group what we concluded. It was one long unending "in-between time" that is still challenging me today. A run of the mill conference will never satisfy me again. I've drunk from a better fountain."
